We can only give you an accurate answer once we have inspected your floors, as all floors are different and require a unique approach.

Wood floors generally need sanding if they are looking tired and dull and you can see that the old sealer is flaking off, that they are looking waxy, or gummy.

You have the option of 2 finishes you can choose from, either a clear gloss finish, or a clear semi-gloss finish. As a rule we do not stain floors unless requested to do so, or unless we are matching newly rejuvenated floors to the existing floors.

You can choose between either a polyurethane (oil based) sealer, or an eco-friendly water based sealer. (We are trying to move away from the polyurethane options as the water based options are harder wearing, quicker drying, contain zero *VOCs, friendlier to the environment and prevent floors from darkening, or yellowing over time.)

*VOCs: Volatile Organic Compounds. These are the additives in oil based sealants that help with the bonding and curing process.

There are no completely dustless sanding processes, but we do everything possible to minimize any dust created. The sanding machines do have strong suctions on them which suck the dust into collection bags on the machines.

Due to the nature of the job, there will be some dust that is created by the sanding process, but as stated above we try to minimize the dust as much as possible. Other than the dust there is no mess created.

Yes, it is possible to remain in the house while the work is being done, however there will be a fair amount of noise from the sanding machine. Once the sealing process starts the floors need to remain unwalked-on for between 1.5 hours and 18 hours depending on the type of sealer you choose and the weather conditions.

Yes. Furniture and loose carpets do need to be removed from areas where work is to be done. Unfortunately we do not move furniture for your protection and ours.

If the floors start looking lacklustre and dull then it is usually a sign that it is a good time to give them a Buff & Coat.

Yes we can. Water damage can take quite a while to become evident and becomes noticeable by the blocks becoming loose and “popping” (lifting), or in the case of strip floorboards the boards start warping around the edges. When this happens we can easily sort it out for you as it happens often.

Yes we can. The reason that this has happened is that the blocks / floorboards were not given sufficient time to dry out before being sanded and resealed again.
